As the first Sales Director at Compete you will work closely with the CRO and be integral in building and defining the revenue strategy at Compete. From day 1 you will drive processes and messaging. You will hire, build and train reps from the inception of the team. Together we will define and create and then reiterate the sales story and pitch and have a blast doing it.  


What you’ll do 

  • Work with team to achieve monthly/quarterly quota assisting with managing deals to close
  • Create a team culture of trust, accountability, success and fun
  • Work with reps and managers to successfully identify and solve potential sales barriers
  • Achieve team level goals and numbers 
  • Help to design and iterate on the sales strategy. Create and develop from scratch. ie. pitch, objection handling, customer profiles, role playing, etc…
  • Hire, onboard, and train incoming sales reps to drive new business against quarterly revenue targets by effectively qualifying leads, setting meetings, and identifying prospect needs
  • Drive weekly forecast meetings, provide insights/recommendations to senior leadership, and identify trending opportunities/challenges
  • Partner cross functionally with Marketing, Sales Development, Account Management & Product teams to build pipeline for the sales team
  • Conduct high-level conversations with C-Suite Executives to address business needs
  • Utilize solution-selling techniques to effectively guide sales process to close

Requirements

What you’ll need

  • Minimum 3-5 years of sales management / leadership experience
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience in an individual contributor role
  • Demonstrated ability to hire and train new Account Executives
  • Proven track record of success, driving revenue growth against quota 
  • Analytical and metrics driven through all stages of the sales cycle
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Active listener and effective presenter with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Salesforce proficiency
