We at Compete HR Ltd (“Compete”, “we,” “us,” or “our”) have created this privacy policy (this “Privacy Policy”) because we know that you care about how information you provide to us is used and shared. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy relates to the information collection and use practices of Compete in connection with our website located at (the “Site”) and our proprietary software-as-a-service platform which provides insights on compensation and benefits benchmarks based on aggregated employee compensation and benefits data of Compete customers (the “Service”).

Description of Users and Acceptance of Terms

This Privacy Policy applies to visitors to the Site, who view only publicly-available content (“Visitors”), customers who have signed up to access and use the Service (the “Customers”), and Customer’s employees, or contractors authorized by Customer to access and use the Service (“Users”).

By visiting our Site, Visitors are agreeing to the terms of this Privacy Policy and the accompanying Terms of Use.

By accessing and/or using the Service, or by clicking “I AGREE” or otherwise manifesting assent to this Privacy Policy, each Customer and each User is agreeing to the terms of this Privacy Policy, and the accompanying Terms of Use.

If you are a Customer, please note that you are obligated to notify to your employees and any other data subject that they do not have a legal obligation to provide the personal data to us and they have the legal right to refuse the collection and use of the data described herein. In such case, we may not be able to provide you some (or all) of the services through the Service. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not access, or otherwise use our Service or any information contained herein. Capitalized terms not defined in this Privacy Policy shall have the meaning set forth in our Terms of Use.

The Information We Collect and/or Receive

In the course of operating the Site and providing the Service, we will collect (and/or receive) the following types of information. You authorize us to collect, receive, process and/or transfer such information, and assume contractual responsibility for providing notification to Users and your employees and obtaining all consents as required under applicable laws and regulations.

1. Contact Information.

In order to get a demo of our Service, or sign up to use our Service, you will have to provide certain information including but not limited to, your name, country of residence, professional email address and telephone number, title, working position and name of employer (collectively, the “Contact Information”). We use Contact Information to provide the requested service or information and to contact you for purposes of direct marketing of our current and future services. You may elect to sign up for our Service with your Google or any other third-party account. If you use such third-party logins, you are authorizing us to collect, store, and use, in accordance with this Privacy Policy, any and all information that you agreed that Google or such other third parties could provide to us through their application programming interface.

2. Customer Data.

In the course of using our Service, Customers and Users provide us Customer Data (as defined in the Terms of Use). We use Customer Data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use. Customer Data may include personal data and the specific personal data that you provide will be as agreed between us when you sign up to access and use our Service and may include several categories of data regarding the compensation and benefits of Customer’s employees.

3. Other Information.

In addition to the Contact Information and Customer Data, we may collect additional information (the “Other Information”). Such Other Information may include:

a. From Your Activity. Information that we automatically collect when you visit the Site and the Service, such as your IP addresses, browser type and language, referring and exit pages and URLs, date and time, amount of time spent on particular pages, what sections of the Site and the Service you visit, similar information concerning your use of the Site and the Service.

b. From Cookies. We collect information using “cookie” technology. Cookies are small packets of data that a website stores on your computer’s or mobile device’s hard drive so that your computer will “remember” information about your visit. We use session cookies, which expire once you close your web browser, to help us collect Other Information and to enhance your experience using the Site and the Service. If you do not want us to place a cookie on your hard drive, you may be able to turn that feature off on your computer or mobile device. Please consult your Internet browser’s documentation for information on how to do this and how to delete persistent cookies. However, if you decide not to accept cookies from us, the Site and the Service may not function properly; please note that we do not use any third-party analytics or retargeting services.

c. Third-Party Analytics. We may use one or more third–party analytics services to evaluate your use of the Site and the Service, compile reports on activity (based on their collection of IP addresses, Internet service provider, browser type, operating system and language, referring and exit pages and URLs, data and time, amount of time spent on particular pages, what sections of the Site and the Service you visit, number of links clicked while on the Service, search terms and other similar usage data), and analyze performance metrics. These third parties use cookies and other technologies to help analyze and provide us the data. By accessing and/or using the Site and/or the Service, you consent to the processing of data about you by these analytics providers in the manner and for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. How We Use and Share the Information

We will use the Contact Information, Customer Data and the Other Information (collectively, the “Information”) to provide the Site and the Service, solicit your feedback, inform you about our products and services and those of our third-party marketing partners, to improve our Site and Service, to fulfil requests for or respond to inquiries about the Site and the Service and for purposes of contract administration. You also authorize us to use and/or share your Information as described below.

Third Party Service Providers. We may engage third party service providers to perform certain business-related functions on our behalf, including but not limited to, providing the necessary hardware, software, networking, storage, and other services we use to operate the Site and the Service and maintain a high-quality user experience. Examples may include providing technical assistance, order fulfillment, customer service, cloud service provider, and marketing assistance. These third party service providers will have access to the Information only as necessary to perform their functions and to the extent permitted by law. You authorize Compete to engage such third party service providers, subject to compliance with this Privacy Policy. We will make available a list of third party service providers who are involved in processing or sub-processing personal data in connection with the provision of the Service (“Sub-Processor”), together with a description of the nature of service provided by each Sub-Processor. A list of such Sub-Processors can be found at Compete will provide Customer with written notice of at least fourteen (14) days upon the addition of any new third or replacement of an existing Sub-Processor during the term of the Subscription Agreement, (the “Objection Period”). Customer agrees to sign up to a mailing list made available by Compete through which such notices will be delivered by email. If Customer has a reasonable basis to object to our use of a new or replacement Sub-Processor, Customer may object to in writing during the Objection Period. In such an event, the parties will conduct good faith negotiation. If the negotiations do not result in resolution acceptable to both parties and Customer can demonstrate that the new or replacement Sub-Processor is unable to comply with this Privacy Policy, Customer may terminate, by written notice, the Subscription Agreement with respect to the elements of the Service that cannot provided by Compete without the new or replacement Sub-Processor.
Anonymized Data. We will aggregate and anonymize your Information with data and information relating to other Compete customers to create anonymized data (“Anonymized Data”). This Anonymized Data does not identify any Customer, User, or any of the Customer’s employees. We will utilize, modify, analyze, process, perform, display, and distribute Anonymized Data for purposes, including, but not limited to, building our internal database, in connection with the Service and other products and/or services provided by Compete, improving and optimizing the Service, developing additional services and offerings, and for marketing Compete’s products and services, including by way of newspaper articles, social media campaigns and other digital means. We may share this Anonymized Data with our affiliates, agents, and business partners. We may also disclose Anonymized Data in order to describe our Service to current and prospective business partners and to other third parties for other lawful purposes.
Business Transfers. As we develop our businesses, we might sell or buy businesses or assets. In the event of a corporate sale, merger, reorganization, sale of assets, dissolution, or similar event, your Information may be part of the transferred assets.
Parent Companies, Subsidiaries or Companies under Common Control. We may also share your Information with any of our parent companies, subsidiaries, or other companies under common control with us.
Legal Requirements. To the extent permitted by law, we may also disclose your Information: (i) when required by law, court order, subpoenas, or other government or law enforcement authority or regulatory agency; (ii) to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; (iii) whenever we believe that disclosing such information is necessary or advisable, to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of Terms of Use, to protect the rights, property or safety of Compete or others, or as otherwise required by law.

Information Security

Compete is committed to ensuring the security of your personal data. We utilize commercially reasonable measures to protect the confidentiality and security of personal data within the Service, by employing technological, physical and administrative security safeguards, such as firewalls and carefully developed security procedures. These technologies, procedures and other measures are used in an effort to ensure that your data is safe, secure and only available to you and to those you authorized to access your data. Please understand, however, that no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the security of our databases or the databases of the third parties with which we may share such information, nor can we guarantee that the information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted over the Internet. In particular, e-mail sent to us may not be secure, and you should therefore take special care in deciding what information you send to us via e-mail.

Data Subjects Rights

Compete shall notify Customer if Compete receives a request from a data subject that seeks to exercise the data subject’s right to review, update, change, or delete personal data of such data subject that is processed under this Privacy Policy (“Data Subject Request”). Compete will provide reasonable cooperation and assistance to Customer responding to such Data Subject Request.

Accessing and Modifying Information and Communication Preferences

Customers and Users may access, remove, review, and/or make changes to their personal data by contacting us at [email protected]. In addition, you may manage your receipt of marketing and non-transactional communications by clicking on the “Unsubscribe” link located on the bottom of any Compete marketing e-mail. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to process such requests in a timely manner. You should be aware, however, that it is not always possible to completely remove or modify information in our subscription databases.

External Sites

The Site and the Service may contain links to third-party websites (“External Sites”). These links are provided solely as a convenience to you and not as an endorsement by us of the content on such External Sites. The content of such External Sites is developed and provided by others. You should contact the website administrator or webmaster for those External Sites if you have any concerns regarding such links or any content located on such External Sites. We are not responsible for the content of any linked External Sites and do not make any representations regarding the content or accuracy of materials on such External Sites. You should take precautions when downloading files from all websites to protect your computer from viruses and other destructive programs. If you decide to access linked External Sites, you do so at your own risk.


We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 18 through the Site and the Service. If you are under 18, please do not give us any personal data. We encourage parents and legal guardians to monitor their children’s Internet usage and to help enforce our Privacy Policy by instructing their children never to provide personal data through the Site and the Service without their permission. If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 18 has provided personal data to us, please contact us, and we will endeavor to delete that information from our databases.

Where we Process Personal Data

Personal data collected by Compete may be processed in your country, in the United States, and in any other country where Compete or its Sub-Processors operate. Compete has data centers in the United States and Frankfurt and you will have the option to choose where your data will be stored and processed. If you require Compete to store and process your data within the EU, Compete will do so in accordance with your instructions. Please be aware that any information you provide to us maybe transferred to, processed, maintained, and used on computers, servers, and systems located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the privacy laws may not be as protective as those in your jurisdiction. If Compete transfers any personal data to Sub-Processors in countries which do not ensure an adequate level of data protection within the meaning of the applicable data protection laws, we will take such measures as are necessary to ensure the transfer is in compliance with the applicable data protection laws.


Compete does not monitor, recognize, or honor any opt-out or do not track mechanisms, including general web browser “Do Not Track” settings and/or signals.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is effective as of the date stated at the top of this Privacy Policy. We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time with or without notice to you. If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by e-mail or by posting a notice on our website prior to the change becoming effective. By accessing and/or using the Site and/or the Service, after we make any such changes to this Privacy Policy, you are deemed to have accepted such changes. Please be aware that, to the extent permitted by applicable law, our use of your information is governed by the Privacy Policy in effect at the time we collect the Information.
